Hey guys first off I'd like to say I'm glad to be back. I haven't been posting for a while because I've been getting situated at college. But I will be back to my old self in no time.

Last night at the end of regulation in the Capitals Hurricanes game Alex Semin threw a check, yes you read that right. I think he tries to catch Allen on the side but he clearly hits him in the back and boards him. He was given a 2 minute boarding minor. Do you think he should be suspended?

I think he will probably get a game or two primarily because he has no suspension history, but plays like these we need to take out of the game, even though there didn't seem to be intent to injure it still wasn't a clean play.

There was never a chance for semin to hit him from the side as he was chasing the numbers the whole way.

We'll now see if Brendin sticks to his guns on these type of hits or if he now alters his decision making now that the regular season has begun.

If Brendin sticks to his guns it'll be 5 to 7 games, if he turn s wishy washy in his decision making it'll be a fine or 1 game.

The best discipline for semin would be to have to square off with allen at centre ice for two minutes.

I think there is a chance for him to catch him on the side if he actually works and skates to the point of contact instead of just lunging at him from the back. He still deserves a suspension in my eyes but all these long suspensions this pre-season have been on guys who are repeat offenders, this would be Semin's first which leads me to believe a 2 game suspension will be coming his way.

And I don't know I think if they were to go at it Semin might leave a few hand print marks on Allen's face

The Caps play Tampa in a little more than 2 hours and Semin has not been suspended which leads me to believe he's going to be let off the hook for this one, I'm kind of surprise that there will be no discipline for this hit.
