NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Right wings Teemu Selanne and Marian Hossa ranked 1-2 in scoring in November. That was the order in which they were named among the "Three Stars" of the month.
The NHL named Selanne of the Anaheim Ducks, Hossa of the Atlanta Thrashers and goaltender Cristobal Huet of the Montreal Canadiens as the monthly winners on Friday.
Selanne led the league with 23 points, including 10 goals, in November. He became the second player from Finland to score his 500th career goal in a November 22 game against Colorado. Jari Kurri was the first player from Finland to reach the milestone. Selanne also enjoyed a career-high five-assist night in a November 19 contest against Phoenix.
The Ducks are off to the best start in franchise history, earning 44 points with a 19-2-6 record. Selanne leads the team in scoring and ranks 10th in the NHL with 31 points, including 11 goals, in 27 games.
Hossa was second to Selanne in November with 22 points, including 10 goals, in 14 games. He posted six multi-point games as the Thrashers went 8-5-1.
