(Sports Network) - Teemu Selanne grabbed a big milestone for himself this week, but would rather have had a win for his team.
The Ducks were handed a 3-2 shootout loss in Colorado on Wednesday despite the fact that Selanne recorded the 500th goal of his illustrious NHL career. The loss ended a two-game winning streak for Anaheim, which lost when Joe Sakic scored the game-winner in the penalty shot segment.
As for Selanne, he reached the 500 mark late in the second period with a power-play goal, but couldn't beat Avs goaltender Jose Theodore in the shootout round.
"It's a big achievement," said Selanne. "I am not a big number guy but 500 is alot of goals. I wasn't thinking about it but I was glad to get it over with. We were terrible tonight we were lucky to get one point."
Overall, it's been a very good month for Selanne, who has scored points in 10 of 11 games this November and has a six-game point streak intact.
