EDMONTON (CP)- If the Edmonton Oilers have any hopes of repeating last season's impressive post-season run during this campaign, it will likely have a lot to do with the Czech-mates on their top line.

Petr Sykora and Ales Hemsky looked like a good match on Tuesday night as each recorded a pair of power-play assists to lead the Edmonton Oilers past the rookie-laden Phoenix Coyotes roster 3-1 in exhibition action.

Robbie Schremp, Raffi Torres and Toby Petersen scored for the Oilers. Josh Gratton scored for the Coyotes.

Hemsky, the Oilers leading scorer with 77 points last year and Sykora, who signed as a free agent with Edmonton after a season split between the Ducks and the Rangers, have very quickly shown the type of chemistry together.

Sykora, who has recorded seven 20 plus goal seasons, is excited about the prospect of playing this season with his fellow Czech Republic native.
