DETROIT (AP) - Mathieu Schneider had three goals and an assist to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 9-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday night.

Mikael Samuelsson scored twice, Pavel Datsyuk added a goal and two assists, Henrik Zetterberg and Jason Williams had a goal and an assist each, and Kirk Maltby also scored for Detroit. Nicklas Lidstrom had three assists, and Niklas Kronwall chipped in with two.

Dominik Hasek made 19 saves for the Red Wings.

Schneider, in his 18th season as an NHL defenceman, recorded his second career hat trick. His other was last Nov. 26.

Mike Comrie and Ed Jovanovski scored for Phoenix. Former Red Wings goalie Curtis Joseph allowed seven goals on 29 shots before being replaced by Mike Morrison to start the third period.
