Perreault keeps top spot on leader board, four points ahead of teammate Beauregard
Mathieu Perreault remained four points ahead of Thomas Beauregard Saturday, as the Acadie-Bathurst forwards continued their battle for top spot on the points board.
Perreault and Beauregard each racked up a goal and an assist as the Titan edged the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Saturday.
Perreault upped his total to 62, while Beauregard moved to 58. The Titan remain in fourth place in the East Division.
At Shawinigan, Que., Tomy Joly's short-handed goal at 11:56 in the third period stood as the winner.
Mathieu Labrie also scored for the Titan (17-10-1-0).
Francis Pare, Danick Bouchard and Dave Labrecque replied for Shawinigan (13-11-1-3).
Oceanic 5, Sagueneens 2
At Rimouski, Que., Olivier Fortier had a goal and two assists as the Oceanic beat Chicoutimi.
David Skokan, Maxime Gratchev, Kevin Cormier and Jordan Caron added goals for Rimouski (6-18-3-1).
Nicolas Blanchard and Francis Verreault-Paul scored for the Sagueneens (10-16-4-1).
Screaming Eagles 7, Mooseheads 3
At Sydney, N.S., James Sheppard put away a goal and added three assists as the Screaming Eagles routed Halifax.
Bradley Gallant, Robert Slaney, Jean-Christophe Gauthier, Jean-Claude Sawyer, Chris Culligan and Cam Fergus also scored for Cape Breton (18-11-1-0).
Luciano Lomanno had two goals for the Mooseheads (14-12-2-1), while Ryan Hillier added one.
Wildcats 4, Rocket 2
At Charlottetown, Jerome Samson's short-handed goal at 10:59 in the third period cemented Moncton's victory over the Rocket.
Nathan Welton, Matt Marquardt and Randy Cameron added a goal apiece for the Wildcats (18-10-0-1).
Pierre-Luc Lessard and Matthew Lachaine scored for P.E.I. (13-8-0-4).
Foreurs 5, Fog Devils 2
At St. John's, N.L., Kristopher Letang had a hat trick as Val-d'Or defeated the Fog Devils.
Maxime Levesque and Mathieu Roy also scored for the Foreurs (19-8-2-1).
Wesley Welcher and Matt Fillier replied for St. John's (10-16-1-1).
Maineiacs 6, Sea Dogs 1
At Lewiston, Maine, the Maineiacs scored four second-period goals as they beat Saint John for their 10th straight win.
David Perron, Stefano Giliati, Stefan Chaput, Pierre-Luc Faubert, Marc-Andre Daneau and Michal Korenko all had goals for the Maineiacs (20-5-0-2).
Jonathan Laberge scored the lone goal for the Sea Dogs (9-16-1-1).
Huskies 6, Remparts 1
At Quebec City, Yannick Riendeau put away two goals to lead Rouyn-Noranda over the Remparts.
Tyler Whitehead, Hugo Carpentier, David Buc and Marc-Antoine Desnoyers also scored for the Huskies (14-11-2-2).
Maxime Aubut scored the lone goal for Quebec (17-13-0-0).
