Dupont gets first shutout this season, Drakkar scores 100th goal of the year

Baie-Comeau goaltender Michael Dupont got his first shutout of the season Saturday.

Dupont stopped 20 shots to lead the Drakkar over the St. John's Fog Devils 5-0 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The game marked the 11th win of the year for Dupont, who racked up two shutouts last season. The Switzerland native has allowed 49 goals this season.

Elsewhere in QMJHL action Saturday, it was: Victoriaville 4, P.E.I. 3 (SO); Val-d'Or 5, Shawinigan 1; and Rouyn-Noranda 4, Quebec 0.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Stephane Michaud scored twice for the Drakkar (11-5-0-2). Olivier Donais, Mathieu Tousignant and Francois Bouchard added for Baie-Comeau.

Devin O'Brien made 27 saves for St. John's (7-12-1-1).

Tigres 4, Rocket 3 (SO)

At Charlottetown, Morten Madsen scored the shootout winner as Victoriaville squeaked by the Rocket.

Adam Ross, Keven Veilleux and Vincent Zaore-Vanie added goals for the Tigres (10-9-0-0).

Guillaume Doucet, Geoff Walker and Marc-Andre Gragnani replied for P.E.I. (9-5-0-3).

Foreurs 5, Cataractes 1

At Val-d'Or, Que., Louis-Etienne Leblanc had a goal and an assist as the Foreurs downed Shawinigan.

Sebastien Bisaillon, Peter-James Corsi, Martin Thibeault and Marc-Andre Cote also scored for Val-d'Or (12-6-2-1).

Guillaume Durand had the lone goal for the Cataractes (13-4-1-3).

Huskies 4, Remparts 0

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Tyler Whitehead scored twice as the Huskies blanked Quebec.

Jean-Philippe Levasseur stopped 30 shots for Rouyn-Noranda (10-7-2-2). Justin Munden and Marc-Antoine Desnoyers added goals.

Nicolas Barriere made 18 saves for the Remparts (12-9-0-0).
