(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres, who have thrived on the road this season, begin a four-game trip tonight when they visit the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center.

The Sabres are 11-1-0 away from home this season, including a 10-0-0 mark to begin the season. Buffalo's lone road loss came on November 18 in Ottawa.

On Friday the Sabres were at home and managed their second straight win against the New York Rangers. This time it was a 4-3 shootout affair, after Tuesday's 2-1 overtime tilt.

In the latter match, Daniel Briere scored the lone shootout goal and Ryan Miller came up with some huge stops in overtime to anchor the win.

Miller, who made six saves in the extra session when the Sabres killed off a hooking penalty to Teppo Numminen, ended with 36 stops, not including ones on Michael Nylander, Brendan Shanahan and Petr Prucha in the shootout.

Jochen Hecht, Brian Campbell and Chris Drury scored for the Sabres, while Maxim Afinogenov tallied two assists in the win.

The Sabres have won four of their last five games overall.

Buffalo, which leads the Eastern Conference with 42 points, will visit Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
