The Buffalo Sabres filled out there coaching staff Tuesday as they hired former Sabre D-man James Patrick as an assistant coach.
The 43 yr-old Patrick, a veteran of 21 NHL seasons, began his career with the New York Rangers, also having stints with Hartford, Calgary, and finally with Buffalo.
Patrick also played a consistent role with Canada's national hockey program, playing in five World Hockey Championships, and as a member of Team Canada at the 1984 Winter Olympics. He finished his career with 149 goals and 490 assists for 639 points in 1,280 games.
