(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres will aim for their third consecutive victory when they head to the Wachovia Center tonight to battle the struggling Philadelphia Flyers.

The Sabres, who lead the Northeast Division with 27 points, are coming off Friday's home win over Florida. Thomas Vanek scored just 19 seconds into overtime to give Buffalo the 5-4 victory over the Panthers.

In the extra session, the Sabres' Ales Kotalik had the puck at the left circle and sent a shot on net that was slowed down by the stick of a Florida defender. Vanek, though, grabbed the puck in front of the goal and went from the backhand to his forehand before putting the puck past an outstretched Alexander Auld to win the game.

Vanek finished the game with two goals and Kotalik had a goal and an assist for the Sabres, who have won three of four.

Martin Biron stopped 15 shots for Buffalo, which came back from a two-goal deficit to win a game for the sixth time this season.

Meanwhile, the Flyers will try for their first victory in November after starting the month with four straight losses. Philadelphia hasn't been victorious since October 30 against Chicago.
