(Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets will resume their three-game homestand tonight, when they welcome the Buffalo Sabres to Nationwide Arena in the first game for both clubs after the All-Star break.

The Blue Jackets began the stand last Friday against Detroit and ended the Red Wings' five-game winning streak. Fredrik Norrena was huge in net for Columbus, posting 41 saves to help Columbus earn the 3-1 victory.

Adam Foote posted a goal and an assist while Dan Fritsche and Alexander Svitov also scored for the Blue Jackets, who have taken two of their last three games.

Columbus winger Rick Nash was the only player representing the club at All- Star week in Dallas and acquitted himself nicely. Nash defended his crown in the Puck Control Relay in Tuesday's SuperSkills challenge and then posted two goals and two assists in the Western Conference's 12-9 win in Wednesday's All- Star Game.

The Blue Jackets are 10-10-3 as the host club this year and will wrap up the three-game homestand Saturday against Minnesota.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference-leading Sabres hope to continue their early- season success tonight, now that the All-Star break has come and gone. Buffalo has 70 points and only trails Nashville by one for the NHL lead.

However, the Sabres were handed a loss last Saturday in Montreal. Michael Ryder scored the game-winning goal with just 2:53 left in the game and the Canadiens held on for the 4-3 triumph.

The Sabres pulled Martin Biron from the net in the final minute, but were unable to net the equalizer.
