CALGARY (CP) - Ryan White scored the game-winning goal in a shootout as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Vancouver Giants 3-2 in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

The Hitmen (12-6-0-1) have now won six straight games and have jumped into third spot ahead of the Kootenay Ice in the highly-competitive Central Division.

Alex Plante and Brodie Dupont scored goals for Calgary in the first and third periods respectively. Ryan White also picked up two assists in the game.

It was the second loss in the past three games for the Giants (16-1-1-1). After falling behind 1-0, Cody Franson set up goals by Milan Lucic and Kyle Lamb to give the Giants a 2-1 lead through two periods before Calgary rallied to tie the game in the third.
