Perhaps he knew something. Or maybe he just was in a hurry to get the night over with, as the Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers were into their 13th round of a shootout with none of the previous 25 shooters having been able to beat either Henrik Lundqvist or Antero Nittymaki.

Whatever the reason for his haste, Hossa did not make waste. Skating straight in with confidence, Hossa threaded a wrist shot between Nittymaki's legs for the only goal of the lengthy shootout and a 5-4 Rangers victory last night at the Wachovia Center.
