Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Dwayne Roloson made 26 saves to lead the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Rexall Place.

Joffrey Lupul had a goal and an assist and Petr Sykora and Steve Staios each added goals for the Oilers, who have won two straight and four of their last five games.

Pavel Datsyuk scored the lone goal and Dominik Hasek made 21 saves for the Red Wings, who have dropped three straight and four of their last five.

The game was tied late in the third period, but Edmonton grabbed the lead with two quick goals.

After Detroit cleared the puck out of its own end, Ladislav Smid grabbed the puck at his blueline and hit Sykora with a pass at the Detroit blueline. Sykora skated in alone and snapped a wrist shot into the left corner of the net with 6:21 to play.

A little over two minutes later, Daniel Tjarnqvist flipped the puck out of his own end and Lupul picked up the puck, skated into the Red Wings zone and flicked a shot between the pads of Hasek for the final score of the game.

Both teams put six shots on goal in the first period, but none of them found the back of the net and the teams went into the second period scoreless.

The Oilers took the lead in the second period with a goal by Staios. Good work along the deep boards between Ryan Smyth and Lupul resulted in Lupul getting the puck. He dished it to Staios at the left point and the defenseman cranked a slap shot that went through a screen and into the net for a 1-0 lead 2:50 into the period.

Edmonton held Detroit to seven shots in the middle stanza and Roloson easily turned them all aside.
