While Steve Sullivan continues to recover from back surgery, it appears he may not be ready for training camp next month.

According to the Pioneer Press, the Nashville Predators forward has begun skating in Vancouver after undergoing surgery last month to correct a disc problem that was pressuring a nerve.

"He's making good progress, but at the start of training camp, he might be a little bit questionable to go full bore," Predators head coach Barry Trotz told the Pioneer Press Wednesday. "When I say full bore, I mean scrimmages and (preseason) games, that kind of thing."

Trotz has been impressed with Sullivan's commitment to get healthy and make sure he is fully recovered before coming back.

"He's taking this injury very seriously in terms of his career and conditioning," Trotz told the newspaper. "He's done the right thing by making sure this is going to be taken care of."
