I was shocked, stunned, and flabbergasted by what Tom Renney had to say about Nikolai Khabibulin and Devan Dubnyk:

“To me, at least, as we wrap this season up, Khabby deserves the opportunity to come out of the gate and nail it down,” Renney said. “I do think Dubby should look forward to playing at least as much next year as he did this year. And I don’t mind if there’s a battle for starts. That’s a healthy situation.”

What happened to the big speech the guys were given about accountability, Dubnyk deserves a better chance than the opportunity to play second fiddle to a broken-down old goalie who was never great in the first place.

Again: bad signing the day it happened, but to stubbornly keep throwing starts at the goalie with the worst numbers in the league is just throwing good money after bad.
