The Detroit Red Wings were breathing a collective sigh of relief on Thursday after learning that forward Jason Williams did not suffer a concussion after a hit from Raffi Torres in Wednesday's game against the Edmonton Oilers.

According to team officials, Williams has no headache and feels fine. He is at home resting, but is expected to be back on the ice for practice on Friday.

Williams was taken off the ice on a stretcher and left Joe Louis Arena in an ambulance and sent to hospital.

Good news for the Detroit Red Wings. He is such an important piece on the Wings lines. He does score here and there, he also plays the point on the powerplay with Nicklas Lidstrom.
