(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings hope to begin another lengthy winning streak this evening when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place.

The Red Wings could have set a new franchise record for consecutive wins with a 10th straight victory in Calgary on Friday, but were instead handed a 4-1 setback at the Saddledome. Kristian Huselius posted a goal and an assist as the Flames topped Detroit.

Daniel Cleary scored for the Red Wings, who had won nine straight games to tie a club mark that was most recently achieved from October 13-November 1 of last season. Nicklas Lidstrom and Mathieu Schneider assisted the lone goal for Detroit, which tasted defeat for the first time since October 21 in Edmonton.

Dominik Hasek blocked 21 of 25 shots in the losing effort.

Tonight marks the end of a three-game road trip for the Red Wings, who are 6-4-0 as the visiting club this year.

Anybody know who will be in goal tonight for the Wings? From what I understand Hasek will not start consecutave road games. Since Osgood is injured, does this mean Macdonald will start in his first NHL game?
