DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings Assistant General Manager Jim Nill today announced the team has signed center Tomas Kopecky to a one-year contract. In keeping with club, additional terms of the deal are not available.
Kopecky, 24, made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with Detroit last season on Feb. 28, 2006, at San Jose. In his fourth season with the Red Wings' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins, he posted career highs in games (77), goals (32), assists (40) and points (72).

He was Detroit's second choice (38th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
I think this will help the young guns down in GR. But more importantly , i think he will be on the regular roster alot more this season! i cannot wait!
