(Sports Network) - The National Hockey League's two hottest clubs clash tonight when the Detroit Red Wings welcome the Nashville Predators to Joe Louis Arena.

Detroit has won seven straight games, while Nashville's winning streak stands at five. The Red Wings currently hold a two-point edge over the Predators in the Central Division standings.

On Wednesday, Henrik Zetterberg scored a shorthanded goal and Dominik Hasek stopped all 16 shots he faced as the Red Wings dominated the Edmonton Oilers in a 3-0 victory. Daniel Cleary and Jiri Hudler also scored, while Chris Chelios had two assist for Detroit.

The Red Wings did receive a scare in the second period as center Jason Williams was carted off the ice on a stretcher after he was leveled by the shoulder of Edmonton forward Raffi Torres. Williams suffered a concussion and a cut on his head, and will not play tonight.

Detroit has allowed two goals or less in each of the last five games.
