(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings hope to continue their terrific month of December tonight, when they welcome the Minnesota Wild to Joe Louis Arena.
The Red Wings are 7-3-0 so far this month and are second in the Central Division -- five points behind the Nashville Predators.
Detroit split a home-and-home series with Columbus and is coming off Wednesday's 5-0 victory in the Motor City. Dominik Hasek stopped 27 shots for his league-leading fifth shutout of the season for the Red Wings, who were handed a 4-3 setback in Columbus on Monday.
Daniel Cleary had two goals and Nicklas Lidstrom finished with a goal and an assist for the Red Wings, who have also won three of their last four games.
The Wild are also fresh off a home-and-home series and they too earned a split with the Vancouver Canucks. They won the return trip to Minnesota on Tuesday after losing, 2-1, at General Motors Place on Saturday.
