(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings attempt to end a two-game losing skid tonight when they welcome the Vancouver Canucks to Joe Louis Arena.

Since a nine-game winning streak, the Wings have lost road matches to Calgary and Edmonton. On Saturday they dropped a 4-3 shootout tilt to the Oilers, as Raffi Torres scored in the seventh round of the shootout to lift the hosts.

Kris Draper, Jiri Hudler and Danny Markov scored for the Red Wings, while rookie Joey MacDonald made his first career start in net and stopped 18 shots.

MacDonald, who was called up when Chris Osgood went on injured reserve last week, spelled Dominik Hasek, who had started the previous night in Calgary. Expect Hasek back in there tonight.

The Red Wings, who are 6-1-1 at home, will host St. Louis on Friday.

Detroit will do ok if they tighten up the Def. and do not stay so open and let the puck remain in our end. thats the key problem. and the other two problems are the power play, and the freakin PK!

these guys need to work as units on PK's and Power Plays.
