(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings try to build another winning streak tonight when they visit the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.
Detroit ended a five-game losing slide (0-2-3) with Monday's 2-1 win over visiting Dallas. Dominik Hasek made 20 saves and Detroit scored a pair of shorthanded goals in the third period to secure the win.
Kris Draper and Mathieu Schneider each had a goal for the Red Wings, whose five straight defeats marked a season high.
Hasek improved to 10-4-3 with a 1.98 goals-against average, .903 save percentage and three shutouts.
Detroit, with 30 points, has fallen six points behind first-place Nashville in the Central Division.
The Red Wings will host San Jose on Saturday.
Minnesota, meanwhile, has dropped two straight and five of its last six games. On Wednesday the Wild were edged, 2-1, by the Sharks in St. Paul, as Joe Pavelski and Steve Bernier each scored to lift San Jose.
