(Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings aim for their third consecutive victory this evening, as they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets for the opener of a home-and-home series.

The Red Wings are coming off a rare win in New Jersey on Saturday night. Pavel Datsyuk and Brett Lebda scored in the third period to lift Detroit to the 2-1 victory over the Devils.

The last time the Red Wings won in the Garden State was November 20, 1993, a streak that went nine games and included two losses in the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals.

Dominik Hasek made 21 saves for the Red Wings, who have won five of their last six contests. Detroit has 42 points and is still five behind Nashville for first place in the Central Division.

Tonight's test wraps up a three-game road trip for Detroit, which is 10-5-1 as the visiting club this year. After this evening's test at Nationwide Arena, the Red Wings will host Columbus on Wednesday night at Joe Louis Arena.

Meanwhile, Columbus has dropped two straight tilts after winning five in a row. The Blue Jackets fell, 6-4, to visiting Chicago on Saturday after Martin Havlat posted a goal and two assists to lead the Blackhawks.

David Vyborny had a goal and two assists, while Fredrik Modin and Rick Nash each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets.
