According to "The Hockey News" magazine, the Rangers top eight d-men will be:
1. Michal Roszival
2. Paul Mara
3. Fedor Tyutin
4. Marek Malik
5. Darius Kasparitis
6. Mark Staal
7. Andrew Hutchinson
8. Dan Girardi
This is an insult to any Rangers fan who has watched Girardi become the teams best defensive d-man while Kasparitis gained weight sitting on the couch and Malik I'm not even going to get started on.
What's the deal?? whaddayathink

Reports have Kasper now in the best physical condition in years. if you want the source there is a past thread on it.

I would rate there defense like so. I put giradi at 3rd cause he was there #3 down the strtch run after he was brought up last season. and he was voted the rangers best rookie last season and he isnt even regarded as high as staal and sanguantti as for future roles on the Rangers so that says alot for what the rangers have in farm talent on the horizon.

2006-07 stats and my ratings.
1. Michal Roszival (10 goals 40 points +10)
2. Fedor Tyutin (2 goals 12 assist)
3. Dan Girardi (6 assist +7)
4. Paul Mara (19 games 2 goals 3 assist +7)
5. Darius Kasparitis (24 games 2 goals 2 assist) recovering from sugery.
6. Mark Staal (played in juniors top defensmen at wjc)
7. Marik Malek (2 goals 21 points +32)
8. Andrew Hutchinson / Bobby Sanguantti
