(Sports Network) - The New York Rangers look to continue their recent run of success against the Boston Bruins when the two Original Six clubs face off this evening at TD Banknorth Garden.

The Rangers have won five straight over Boston since the NHL resumed play following the locked-out 2004-05 campaign, including a pair of matchups in Beantown last season. New York also posted a 3-1 victory over the Bruins at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.

The Bruins' last victory in this series came via a 3-1 decision in Boston on March 4, 2004.

Boston has struggled all throughout January, having recorded just a 3-7-1 record for the month, and comes in having lost six of its last eight outings. In their first game back from the All-Star break, the Bruins were handed a 3-1 defeat at Ottawa on Saturday.

Glen Murray tallied the lone goal for Boston, his team-leading 23rd of the season. Tim Thomas stopped 33-of-35 shots between the pipes, but both of his goals allowed came in the third period.

Boston, which will visit Buffalo Tuesday in the opener of a home-and-home series, is 14-9-2 at TD Banknorth Garden this season and has won two of its last three as the host.
