The Marquette Rangers Tier II Junior hockey team wrapped up the 2009 edition of the annual North American Hockey League showcase by scoring twice in the third period against the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL West Division winning 4-3.

Andrew Kolb (Toledo, Ohio) continued his hot hand by scoring his fourth goal for the Rangers in as many games; with this one turning out to be the game winner at 11:43 of the third period.

Kenai River jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, before the Rangers would respond to tie the game at two apiece on goals by Tanner Kero and Marquette native Collin Saint-Onge. For Kero (Hancock, Mich.) it was his third goal of the tournament; for Saint-Onge it would be second goal in as many games for the Rangers.

Kenai Rivers' Brad Fasuro scored the only goal of the second period for a 3-2 Brown Bear lead after 40 minutes of play.

The Rangers would tie the game in the third when second-year forward Kent Daavettila (Howell, Mich.) scored his first on the season with assists given to Scott Henegar and goaltender Lukas Hafner. The game would stay tied until Kolb scored his game winner with helpers from Garrett Ladd and defenseman Jackson Spivey.

Hafner made 28 saves on 31 Kenai River shots to pick up his first win in a Rangers uniform. Brown Bear goalie Tyler Ross made 16 saves on 20 shots in the game.

The Rangers open the home portion of their schedule this Friday and Saturday at Lakeview Arena taking on the Fairbanks (Ala.) Ice Dogs on the NAHL West Division.

Rangers are on a roll right now. They shouldn't of never lost the game at the red wings.
