(Sports Network) - The New York Rangers try to end a two-game skid tonight when they visit the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena for a battle of first-place clubs.
The Rangers have dropped both tilts in overtime, including Tuesday's 5-4 setback against Atlanta. Former Ranger Bobby Holik scored his second goal of the game with 2:05 left in overtime to lift the Thrashers.
Adam Hall had two goals and Martin Straka added a goal and an assist for the Rangers, who had won three straight before the current slide. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25-of-30 shots in the loss.
Straka has found the net in three straight games (4g) and has a five-game point streak intact (5g, 4a).
The Rangers, who are 8-5-0 on the road, will host the rival Islanders on Sunday.
Buffalo, meanwhile, has won three of its last four games. The Sabres haven't played since Sunday, when they edged the Rangers, 3-2, in OT. Chris Drury scored on a deflection shot in overtime to take the victory.
