(Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks try to stop the bleeding of a five- game losing skid tonight when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

Chicago opened a brief two-game road trip on Monday in Philadelphia, losing 3-0 to the Flyers. Peter Forsberg scored a pair of goals and Robert Esche stopped all 26 shots he faced to lift the Flyers.

Former Flyer Brian Boucher was solid in net and ended with 32 saves for Chicago, which was shut out for the third consecutive game. The last time the Blackhawks went three games without a goal was way back in the 1974-75 season.

On the injury front, the Blackhawks welcomed forward Tuomo Ruutu back to game ice Monday. The oft-injured Ruutu had been sidelined with a knee injury since the preseason.

Chicago remains without several key components due to injuries -- Martin Havlat, Michal Handzus and goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin.

The Blackhawks will host Detroit on Thursday.
