VANCOUVER (CP) - Carey Price stopped 33 shots to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Giants in WHL action Tuesday night.
Price, 19, of Anahim Lake, B.C., native, showed why he is a leading candidate to be the starting goalie for Canada's world junior team. His performance came a day after Price was named as one of four goalies to try out for the national squad. Taylor Procyshen, Aaron Boogaard and Colton Yellow Horn had the goals for the Americans (18-10-0-0), who earned their second straight win.
Michal Repik scored for Vancouver (22-5-2-2) as the defending WHL champion suffered only its second home-ice loss of the season.
Repik opened the scoring at 4:23 of the second on the power play before Tri-City rallied with two goals in 38 seconds.
