(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators will try to rebound from a rare recent loss when the NHL's current point leaders wrap up a road trip tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Nashville had won four straight games and 10 of its last 11 contests before stumbling in Denver on Tuesday. Andrew Brunette tallied a goal and an assist while Peter Budaj made 34 saves to lead Colorado to a 4-3 triumph over the Predators at the Pepsi Center.
Paul Kariya, Jason Arnott and Steve Sullivan had the goals for the Predators, while Tomas Vokoun recorded 31 saves in a losing cause.
Nashville will be playing the finale of a four-game road swing tonight. The club is a strong 18-10-0 as the visitor and can establish a new franchise record for away wins in a season with a victory this evening.
Sullivan's goal on Tuesday extended his personal scoring streak to eight consecutive games, with the playmaking forward amassing four goals and seven assists over that span. Arnott (2 goals, 4 assists) and wing Martin Erat (4 goals, 4 assists) are currently riding five-game point streaks.
The Predators have not lost back-to-back games since December 4-6. The first of those defeats came at the hands of the Coyotes in Glendale.
Phoenix returns home after dropping a 2-1 decision at Anaheim on Wednesday. Travis Moen and Andy McDonald each scored third-period goals as the Ducks handed the Coyotes their second straight defeat.
