(Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks hope to put an end to their lengthy losing streak when the sputtering club plays the back end of a home-and-home series with the powerful Nashville Predators tonight at the United Center.

The Predators dealt Chicago its ninth consecutive defeat in the final game for both clubs prior to the All-Star break. David Legwand registered his first career hat trick to propel Nashville to a 6-3 victory last Saturday at Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Martin Erat had a goal and a pair of assists while J.P. Dumont registered a goal and one helper for the Central Division-leading Predators, who erupted for three third-period goals to win for the eighth time in nine outings. Netminder Chris Mason stopped 27 shots on the night.

Martin Havlat notched a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, while Duncan Keith and Craig MacDonald also scored in the losing effort. Nikolai Khabibulin continued his recent struggles between the pipes, however, as the veteran netminder gave up five goals on 34 shots.

Havlat also had a strong night during Wednesday's All-Star Game in Dallas, as the standout right wing finished with two goals and an assist to help the Western Conference post a 12-9 victory.

Chicago hasn't tasted victory since a 4-1 decision at St. Louis on January 2 and has dropped seven in a row at the United Center since a 2-1 triumph over Dallas on December 26.
