(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators hope to rebound from a lopsided loss, as they host the Los Angeles Kings this evening at Gaylord Entertainment Center.

The Predators were in the midst of a five-game winning streak before welcoming Buffalo to town on Thursday. The Sabres waltzed into Nashville and posted a 7-2 victory over the Predators, as Ales Kotalik, Jason Pominville, and Maxim Afinogenov recorded two goals apiece.

Martin Erat and Jason Arnott tallied for Nashville, which is still leading the Central Division.

Chris Mason stopped just 21-of-26 shots through two periods, dropping to 12-5-2 on the year. Michael Leighton made 8-of-10 saves in relief in his first appearance of the season.

The Preds, who are 9-2-3 in the Music City this year, are playing the middle test of a three-game homestand tonight. They will close the residency Tuesday night against St. Louis.

Meanwhile, the Kings have dropped three in a row and are coming off Thursday's setback in St. Louis. Lee Stempniak and Barrett Jackman each had a goal and an assist in the Blues' 5-2 win.
