(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators will try to avoid falling behind 2-0 in their best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series tonight, when they host the San Jose Sharks at Nashville Arena.

The teams kicked off this set in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night, and San Jose wound up taking the one-game lead as it posted a double-overtime victory in the Music City. Patrick Rissmiller scored 8:14 into the second overtime to lift the Sharks to the 5-4 triumph.

In the second OT, Patrick Marleau chipped a pass from the left point to the low left circle, where Rissmiller quickly lifted the puck over the right shoulder of Tomas Vokoun to win the game.

Wednesday's win came at a cost, however, as Sharks winger Jonathan Cheechoo left the game after absorbing a knee-to-knee hit from Nashville's Scott Hartnell, who received a major and a game misconduct on the play. In addition to the right knee injury, Cheechoo also had a tooth knocked out on the play. The NHL has decided not to give Hartnell a suspension for the hit.

Cheechoo underwent an MRI on the knee on Thursday and the Sharks are still waiting for the results. However, it seems likely that Cheechoo, who has 93 goals over his last two regular seasons, is going to have to sit out this evening.
