NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Nashville Predators have signed free agent defenseman Alex Henry to a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.

Under the two-way contract, Henry will earn $450,000 if playing for the Predators in the NHL and $95,000 if playing for the team's AHL franchise, the Milwaukee Admirals.

The 6-5, 220-pound Henry played in Minnesota the last two NHL seasons and last season he had a career-high five assists in 63 games played.

He was first drafted by Edmonton in the third round of the 1998 draft.

The team also announced that it has hired pro scout Shawn Dineen, who spent last season with the L.A. Kings and has previously worked for Colorado and Vancouver.
