(Sports Network) - Two division leaders will go head-to-head in a marquee interconference matchup tonight from Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center, where the Predators take on the dangerous Buffalo Sabres.
Buffalo currently leads all Eastern Conference clubs with 50 points, while Nashville's 49 points would give them the second seed in the West right now.
This will be the first game between the teams since November 29, 2003, when the Predators skated away with a 4-1 victory at Gaylord Entertainment Center. Nashville has won three straight in the series as well and unbeaten in its last four contests (3-0-1) against the Sabres.
Buffalo will try to put an end to its first losing streak of the season. The Sabres have lost back-to-back games to Ottawa and Montreal, the most recent being a 5-2 defeat at home to the Canadiens on Tuesday.
Ales Kotalik scored just 34 seconds into the game for Buffalo and Jaroslav Spacek recorded the team's only other marker. Ryan Miller had 24 saves in the loss.
