(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators seek their fifth straight win tonight when they host the Vancouver Canucks at Gaylord Entertainment Center.

On Thursday, Martin Erat's shootout goal lifted the Predators over the New Jersey Devils, 4-3, at Continental Airlines Arena.

After Nashville's Marek Zidlicky and Paul Kariya were denied by Scott Clemmensen, Erat gave the Predators the advantage with a wrist shot over Clemmensen's right shoulder. New Jersey's Patrik Elias had a chance to keep the shootout alive, but his shot bounced off the pads of Chris Mason to give Nashville its fourth straight victory.

Jason Arnott, Erat and Scott Nichol rounded out the scoring for the Predators, who scored twice on the power play.

Mason stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced, including 13 in the second period.

The victory ended a three-game road trip for Nashville, which won two of the games via shootout.

Nashville will host San Jose on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Canucks have won two of their last three games, including Friday's 3-2 overtime win against the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center.

Sami Salo was the hero and scored before the buzzer sounded in overtime for the dramatic victory. Taylor Pyatt and Markus Naslund each scored a goal, while Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo made 17 saves.
