(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators will try to get back in the win column tonight, when they welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to Gaylord Entertainment Center.
The Predators had won six straight before losing in Detroit on Wednesday. Henrik Zetterberg scored twice and added an assist to lead the Red Wings to the 5-3 victory at Joe Louis Arena. The game enabled Detroit to move within two points of Nashville for first place in the Central Division.
Greg Zanon, Dan Hamhuis and Jordin Tootoo tallied for the Predators. Starting goaltender Tomas Vokoun exited after giving up two goals on Detroit's first eight shots. Backup Chris Mason took the loss after making only 16 saves in relief.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets will try this evening for their first winning streak in over a month. Columbus ended a four-game skid Tuesday in Chicago and with a victory tonight, it can string together consecutive wins for the first time since taking five tests in a row from December 2-12.
Columbus won Tuesday's game against the Blackhawks by a 5-4 score, thanks to Jason Chimera's tally 2:31 into overtime.
Fredrik Modin, Sergei Fedorov and Rostislav Klesla also scored for the Blue Jackets, who are 1-3-1 in their last five games.
