NASHVILLE -- Swiss defenceman Roman Josi and Finnish goaltender Atte Engren have signed entry-level contracts with the Nashville Predators.

Josi (YO-see) signed a three-year deal. The six-foot-one, 198-pound defenceman was the 38th pick overall in the 2008 NHL draft. He led Swiss defencemen with three points and a plus-3 rating in seven games at the World Championships in May.

Engren (EHN-grehn) signed a two-year deal. The 6-1, 184-pound goalie was the 204th pick overall in 2007. The 22-year-old went 7-1 with a 1.82 goals-against average in helping TPS Turku win the 2010 Finnish Elite title.
Don't know too much about Engren but I expect Josi to be decent with the Predators. I think he'll fit perfectly with Nashville.

Josi: Good, albeit not great, all-around defenseman with solid hockey sense. He's able to make a good pass and has a solid, accurate shot. He's a pretty complete player without huge glaring faults. At the same time, none of his game really stands out, he could stand to get stronger, but he can play against men right now.

Engren: Quick, athletic goaltender that is quick in his crease. He plays a hybrid style that leans towards butterfly at times. He's fantastic mentally and plays better under pressure. He needs a bit of technical work (angles, glove positioning, those sorts of things) and could use quite a bit of work on stick handling, but that seems to be a trend for Finnish goaltenders.
