Do you think the Oilers can still catch Vancouver for the division lead and home ice advantage in playoffs before the season is done?

They play ten games on the road in February, while the Nucks are red-hot and Calgary is adding good players through trades.

Who will win the Northwest division?

It would be tough for any team to catch up to Vancouver as of now, seeing as they are RED HOT. If any of the other teams seriously turn it on they could probably catch up to them. But, I would say Vancouver is untouchable right now. That's just my opinion.

Vancouver's only one point of Calgary, although they're hot now and have only lost in overtime in a long time I think the Flames will be on their heels until the end of the season. Especially if Calgary can get more production out of the other three lines with Conroy back in the lineup.

I think Edmonton is going to make a big trade soon though.

I think its between the Canucks and Flames, and either of the teams could take it. I dont think Edmonton will make the playoffs, but if they do they are gunna have to turn it up from now to the end of the season

Unless a trade happens soon the Oilers don't stand a chance in H-E double hockey sticks even getting to the platoffs.

You really think they could beat the Flames ?

Edmonton are not even our true rivals anymore that title go to Vancover.

Just another quick note, poll isn't really fair considering you posted in in the Greaser pit.

Edmonton isn't that far out. 28 games to go and only 4 wins out of 8th. Which also means 4 wins out of 7th and 5 wins out of 6th.

Im sorry Edmonton fans but they are going to have to make a real good run IMO to make the playoffs this year. Other teams ahead of them will pick it up to and the point differential will probably end up being to big of a differecne for them to take 8th. If they can get a consistent streak going then they should have a fairly good chance of making the playoffs. Out of thier next 15 games I say for sure they have to win 11 or 12.

That's for sure Canuck but here's where things get interesting. Edmonton has 5 games remaining with Minnesota, 2 Calgary, 1 Vancouver and 2 Colorado. That's 20 points on the table with 16 of those points coming against the three teams they are chasing the most. (Vancouver 6th, Colorado 7th and Minnesota 8th) They have nothing against 5th place Dallas but that's ok they only have to catch and pass one of those four to hit the playoffs.

Plus they have 2 games against Chicago, 2 against St. Louis, 1 Boston and 1 Columbus. What the Oil need to do is win the games they are supposed to instead of playing down for them and when it comes to divisional games get the two points in regulation. Giving up OT points to Minnesota (unstoppable in the shoot out) and Colorado will seal this deal.

28 games is 56 points on the table. I believe they'll need at least 85 and more likely 90 to make the playoffs. With their current 56 points they need a minimum of 15 wins and probably 17-18 wins in the final 28 games to get it done.

18-10 isn't out of the question. Why not just go 28-0 and make a run for the top 3 seeds...

I don't think they'll catch the Canucks, and I especially don't think they will catchthe Flames, who I see as winning the Division.

I'm now not even sure if Edmonton will make the playoffs actually. They only seem to come on strong when it's late in the season, but is it too late this time around? :dunno:
