A plus to Jeremy Roenick, who has a new attitude and it's paying big dividends. After being a healthy scratch on Saturday, he came back Monday night with a goal and won 10 of his 15 face-offs. When he was a scratch in Vancouver last month, he walked out and came very close to quitting. After just one goal in his first 31 games this season, Roenick has five goals in his last seven games.

A minus to the Sabres, who may have the best record in the Eastern Conference, but their performance against division rivals is mediocre at best. With just one win in their last five divisional games, the Sabres sport an ugly .471 winning percentage within the division, but have an .828 winning percentage against everyone else.

A plus to the Sharks, who not only have the league's best power play, no one else is even close. All three of San Jose's goals in Monday night's win over the Avs' came with the man advantage. That gives them an incredible 19 power play goals in their last seven games.

A plus to Daniel Alfredsson, who didn't let pride get in the way of finding skates that worked. After going through 18 pairs of his own, Alfredsson was wandering around the dressing room, when he saw linemate Chris Kelly's skates and tried them on. He liked them and told Kelly he was going to use them. Alfredsson has 22 points in his 14 games since then.
