Don't buy a product for its brand name

In any purchase of equipment for hockey, it is very
important NOT to buy it only for its brand name!
Don't buy equipment just because it says CCM or KOHO.
Buy only that equipment that fits your need.

Buy your shoulder pads that fit you correctly. If it says "Edsel",
but it makes you another Wayne Gretzky, your need has been met!!!
If it says CCM and you play like someone who can't skate or who shoots
so badly he can't keep the puck in the ice area, you had better think about
why you are wearing that equipment. In all seriousness, buy the shoulder pads
that fit you best and maximize your abilities. Never mind about brand names.
This goes for sticks, helmets and goalie masks as well.

P.S.: Every hockey star will tell you what I just told you.

I agree. I picked a price point that I would not go over for each piece and tried on every one in my price range and went with the ones that fit the best. I am not one for names so I don't care what it says as long as it protects me and lets me skate around pretending I am a superstar.

For shoulder pads fit is especially important as I am tall, skinny with a long torso. I had to try 6-7 different shoulder pads to find the ones that fit.
