(Sports Network) - Losers in five of their last seven games, the Phoenix Coyotes are playing themselves right out of a chance to make the postseason.

The Coyotes' recent skid has dropped them to 25-29-2 on the year which puts them 12th overall in the Western Conference. It also leaves the club 14 points out of the playoff picture.

Phoenix's poor play on the road this season has hindered it as of late. The club fell to 1-2 on its current four-game road trip after suffering a 5-2 setback to Florida on Saturday.

The club fell behind 2-0 by the end of the first, a period that saw the Coyotes get outshot 15-7. Phoenix was also shorthanded three times in the opening stanza against Florida.

They're in full sell mode now. They've given up on making the playoffs. Who wouldn't give up on the playoffs when they're 14 points behind with 26 games left? They'd need to win 3/4 of them at least and get a lot of help to even compete for a playoff spot at this point. It ain't gonna happen.
