(Sports Network) - Two division foes with identical records meet today when the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.
Both clubs are 10-7-3 and sit tied for third in the Atlantic Division race with 23 points. They are two points behind the Devils and Rangers.
Pittsburgh is on the rebound after having a two-game winning streak stopped in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to Boston. Marco Sturm scored the game-winner in the shootout to lift the Bruins.
Mark Recchi had two goals for the Pens in the loss, and Evgeni Malkin finished with a goal and an assist. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 28 saves.
Star forward Sidney Crosby missed the game with a sore groin. He is day-to- day, and questionable for this afternoon's affair.
Pittsburgh, which is 5-3-1 on the road, will host the NY Rangers on Saturday.
