(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins vie for a third consecutive victory and will try to break a long winless drought against the Boston Bruins when the two teams meet tonight at TD Banknorth Garden.

Boston has won eight straight games in this series, including a 4-3 shootout triumph in Pittsburgh back in November. The Penguins haven't beaten the Bruins since an overtime decision at the Igloo on November 1, 2003 and last won in Beantown on February 8 of that same year.

Pittsburgh does enter as the hotter club, however, as the Pens have won their last two contests and Boston has dropped seven of its last nine.

The Penguins are fresh off a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Erik Christensen and NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby both netted a pair of goals to lead Pittsburgh.

Michel Ouellet contributed a goal and an assist to the winning effort, while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 31 of 33 shots in a strong effort between the pipes.

Boston continues to plummet in the Eastern Conference standings and suffered another defeat Wednesday in Buffalo. The Sabres scored three unanswered goals in the third period to notch a 6-3 victory in the back end of a home-and-home series between the division rivals.
