(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins aim for their fourth consecutive victory tonight, when they welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to Mellon Arena for the opener of a home-and-home series.

The Penguins earned an impressive victory Friday night, as they defeated the Eastern Conference-leading Sabres in Buffalo. Evgeni Malkin scored the game- deciding goal at the tail end of the second period and added an assist as Pittsburgh edged the Sabres, 4-2, at HSBC Arena.

Jordan Staal and Ryan Whitney each had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves in the win, as the Penguins snapped a five- game series skid. It was Pittsburgh's first victory over Buffalo since December 16, 2003.

The Penguins, who are 10-8-3 at home this season, will make the return trip to Tampa on Tuesday.

The Lightning will try to rebound from a loss after dropping one in Denver on Friday. Tyler Arnason scored the go-ahead goal on a redirection in the second period, and Peter Budaj stopped 26 shots in Colorado's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Vincent Lecavalier scored once and assisted on Tampa Bay's other goal, as the Lightning lost for the fourth time in six games. Marc Denis stopped 28 shots in defeat. Vinny Prospal had the other Tampa Bay goal.
