(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to solve the Pittsburgh Penguins for the first time this season when the clubs meet this evening in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Penguins have taken all six meetings with Philly this year and put up eight goals against the Flyers in two of those contests. All told, Pittsburgh has outscored the Orange & Black 33-14 in the six encounters.

Philadelphia was in action Wednesday night against the Islanders and was handed a 2-0 loss at Nassau Coliseum. Rick DiPietro made 27 saves for his fifth shutout of the season to lead the Islanders.

Antero Niittymaki was strong in net for the Flyers, who have lost three of their last four games, finishing with 35 saves. Philadelphia is still last in the NHL with 33 points.

Tonight marks the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Flyers, who are a pitiful 3-15-6 at the Wachovia Center this year.

The Penguins have been extremely hot lately, winning seven of eight games and registering a point in 11 straight contests (9-0-2).
