The Florida Panthers said WAXY 790-AM will broadcast their regular season games and any playoff games under a three-year agreement that begins this season.

The Panthers and WAXY, which calls itself 790 The Ticket, did not announce financial terms for the agreement.

Panther games have been broadcast on WQAM 560-AM since the team entered the NHL in the 1993-1994 season.

In addition to game coverage and pre-game shows, WAXY will carry a weekly 15-minute Panthers radio show that is to include interviews with players, coaches and team personnel, and a one-hour Panthers weekend show. In addition, the station will provide the Panthers with playoff-related programming and a 60-minute NHL draft show.

WAXY's agreement with the Panthers comes three months after the station lost the Miami Dolphins to sports radio rival WQAM.
