(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers look to stop a four-game losing streak at Madison Square Garden when the struggling club takes on the New York Rangers this evening.

New York has won six of the last seven meetings between the teams in Manhattan, including a pair of 4-0 victories last season. The Panthers haven't won at the Garden since a 2-1 triumph on March 10, 2003.

Florida, which begins a road swing against all three New York area teams tonight, has also been slumping as of late. The Panthers come in having dropped four of their last five, most recently a 6-3 decision to Atlanta on Monday.

The Thrashers rallied from an early two-goal deficit behind a hat trick from Ilya Kovalchuk as Atlanta completed a home-and-home sweep of Florida. The Thrashers handed the Panthers a 4-2 loss in Atlanta on Saturday.

Joel Kwiatkowski, Bryan Allen and Jozef Stumpel all lit the lamp for the Panthers in defeat. Alexander Auld allowed five goals on 19 shots before being pulled in favor of Ed Belfour, who made seven saves in eight tries.

Florida will play at New Jersey tomorrow night before concluding the trip Saturday against the Islanders.

The Rangers enter this contest on a high note, having defeated Toronto 5-4 on Brendan Shanahan's shootout goal Saturday at Air Canada Centre.

After Henrik Lundqvist stoned his third straight skater in the shootout period, Shanahan calmly skated in and used his quick release to beat Andrew Raycroft glove-side.
