(Sports Network) - The top two teams in the Pacific Division clash this evening in San Jose, as the Sharks welcome the Anaheim Ducks to HP Pavilion.

The Ducks have the best record in the NHL so far this season with 56 points. San Jose is second in the division with 46 points, a number that would put them in first place in every NHL division besides the Pacific and Northeast.

Anaheim earned a win its last time out, beating the Atlanta Thrashers, 2-1, at Philips Arena. Teemu Selanne netted both goals for the Ducks and Jean- Sebastien Giguere stopped 34 shots.

Selanne scored in the second period, then added the game-deciding tally in the third to give the Ducks their fifth consecutive win and 10th in 11 games.

The team also extended its road winning streak to a franchise-best seven games. Six of Anaheim's last seven road wins have been decided by one goal.

The Ducks, who are an outstanding 12-1-2 on the road this season, complete a five-game swing with tonight's test.

Meanwhile, San Jose was handed a loss by the Los Angeles Thursday night at the Shark Tank. Anze Kopitar scored two first-period goals to lead the Kings to the 4-2 decision over the Sharks.
